(KOLN) - Snow was expected to impact the area on Thursday, and so was the wind. Forecasts in the last several days had called for it. So when the snow started and the wind began to pick up, it wasn’t entirely unexpected. What was a little more unexpected was when phones and watches started buzzing with emergency tones blaring saying the words, “Snow Squall Warning”. For many, it was a term they were unfamiliar with, and rightfully so. The two Snow Squall Warnings issued with the NWS office in Valley were the first two they have ever issued.
